1. What FITD is

FITD is a web app that turns a plain-English description of a mechanical part into a print-ready CAD file (STEP and STL formats) that you can download and print yourself.

What "verified" means. When we say a generated file is "verified", we mean exactly two things: (a) the geometry is watertight/manifold (it is a closed, valid solid that a slicer or CAM tool can process), and (b) its dimensions match the specification you agreed in the chat. "Verified" does not mean the part is fit for your particular application, that the material you choose is suitable, or that your print settings will produce a good result. Those judgements are yours to make.

1a. Who can use FITD

You must be 18 or over to use FITD. We ask you to confirm this when you redeem your invite, and we close accounts we find to be under 18.

FITD is offered to residents of the United Kingdom only, and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales (see section 8).

Generating a part is not a representation that any third-party print bureau, marketplace or other service will accept the file. Whether a bureau will print it is their decision, under their own policies.

2. Beta service

FITD is currently an invite-only beta. That means:

• The service is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent permitted by law. We make no promise of uptime or availability and offer no service-level agreement.
• Free beta credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for money, and may expire or be adjusted at any time.
• Your data (including conversations and generated files) may be wiped when the beta ends or the service changes. Download anything you want to keep.
• If you give us feedback about the service, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use that feedback to improve FITD, without any obligation to you.

3. Who owns generated designs

As between you and FITD, you own all right, title and interest (if any) in the designs generated for you. To the extent any rights in a generated design vest in FITD, we assign them to you.

You grant FITD a licence to store and process your prompts, conversations and generated files so we can provide the service. Additionally, only where you approve a design (for example by giving it a thumbs-up), you grant FITD a licence to use that prompt and design as an example to improve the service — including showing it as a reference example to other users' generations. See our Privacy Policy for how this works and how to withdraw an approved example.

4. What you promise us

• Your prompts and any images you upload do not infringe anyone else's intellectual property or other rights.
• You will not include personal data (yours or anyone else's) in prompts — names, addresses, contact details and similar have no place in a part description.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use FITD to design, generate or attempt to generate:

• Firearms or firearm components, suppressors, ammunition, or any other weapons or parts of weapons.
• Parts for an unmanned aircraft (a drone) whose function is to carry, release or deliver a weapon, munition, incendiary or harmful substance; strike or one-way-attack airframes; drone-mounted weapons; or parts designed to defeat counter-drone or airspace-safety measures. Ordinary drone hardware — frames, mounts, guards, trays and the like — is fine.
• Items whose manufacture or possession is regulated or restricted by law.

You must not use generated parts in safety-critical applications — including load-bearing structural parts, medical devices, aviation components, or braking systems — without independent verification by a qualified professional.

You are solely responsible for any registration, class marking, Operator ID, Flyer ID, Remote ID or other CAA or aviation duty that attaches to anything you build from FITD output. FITD does not place unmanned aircraft on the market and makes no representation about aviation compliance.

Violating this section is grounds for immediate termination of your account.

6. Safety

Generated outputs are AI-generated design suggestions. Before any use where an error could cause harm, verify the design yourself: check the dimensions, choose an appropriate material, and, where safety is relevant, have the design independently verified by a qualified professional.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that: our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the service is capped at the greater of the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim and £50; and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of data, or losses arising from your use of generated designs in physical parts (including failed prints, wasted material, or damage caused by a printed part).

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in, and you may be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
